Entry #6: Engineering
These past 8 weeks at Glendale Community College were really engaging to me. Seeing new equipment that local producers only dream of having is right in my hands. Lately, In Studio Recording II we've been in the studio discussing Equalizers and Reverbs.
Last week we had one of our peers play the drums, guitar, and other equipment that he was used to playing. seeing him having full creative control of the sound he wants from his instruments was inspiring. I never got the chance to say to him how good he was. The next time you see a musician play their instruments look at their focus and the muscles in their arms or legs. I noticed that when a musician plays their instruments the muscles in their forearms move faster than normal. The most important information that is given is when the instructor speaks. My Studio Record II instructor is David Nicols. He is by far one of the best music engineers that's in Phoenix, AZ. Every time someone has a question he answers it and gives more info about why he has an opinion on that subject. On March 8th we have a trip to a studio that's in Phoenix, I'm excited to go there.

Wow that’s cool that you are going into that. I’m happy you have a good person to answer all your questions and kinda guide you. I wish you the best of luck!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed learning more about the audio production program at GCC.
